Not every home heats their water with electric resistance heating. My previous place used natural gas for hot water, and my current home has a heat pump water heater, which has an effective efficiency much greater than a normal electric water heater.

Thanks! Yeah I guess it might be hard for some people, but I speak some French and Spanish and it’s not hard for me to remember to ¡use proper exclamation points in Spanish! or «use guillemets instead of quotation marks in French». This feels like the same sort of thing.
I understand that it’s different in other languages, but I often see this behavior from native US Americans who only speak English.

When I read “20$” my first thought is that the person writing it didn’t pay attention in elementary school.

Not only do journalists do this all the time now, it’s even a thing within the companies themselves. I previously worked for a company that had been running for 10 years and had over 500 employees and close to $100MM in annual revenue. Every single meeting, one of the executives would use some form of “we’re still just a startup” as an excuse when asked tough questions.
This comes off as the writing of a teenager who’s just been caught and thinks they’re smarter than the adults who caught them. Which checks out because Sam Altman pretty much always acts like an entitled teenager despite being a grown-ass adult.

I’ve never seen a ten-thousandths place in a price in USD.
Fun fact: mills, or one-thousandths of a dollar, were actually officially specified as valid units of currency in the first several laws establishing the US mint and the coinage system, in the late 1700s.

I just pulled up the ChatGPT terms of use and there is no language covering use of trade secrets, so there is no contract covering trade secrets here. So what I originally said (and what you said in your “Without a contract” paragraph) is correct.
Except for USB 3.2 gen 2, which can in some cases be slower than USB 3.2 gen 1, formerly known as USB 3.1.
And USB 4, which defines two different possible operating speeds, one of which is equal in speed to USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 (not faster than it)
And USB 4 Version 2 (lord help me) which defines a mode in which the upstream speed is halved in exchange for faster downstream speeds.

If a company voluntarily discloses a trade secret to a member of the public, it ceases to be a trade secret, so I doubt that would apply here either.
I believe that advertising is one of the roots of many of our current societal problems, including violent political extremism/fascism/etc. Advertising should be banned, full stop. No amount of ads are acceptable.
Note that there’s really nothing inherently slower about sharing RAM; Apple’s processors have integrated graphics and the memory bandwidth can be higher than some dedicated GPUs. Apple just uses faster memory. Some PCs are (finally) taking this approach too, like the DGX Spark boxes from nVidia.
