He used to make “literal movie trailers” and also branched out as a gaming YouTuber but then was ‘exposed’ by a former girlfriend who accused of him being on drugs, abusive, and a rapist. This was picked up by a lot of people and YouTubers who’ve associated with Toby gave their opinions on the matter. Which most gave the answer of “maybe”. They essentially confirmed that tobuscus is not as good as a guy as they might think. That he may or may not be a rapist but is pretty sketchy otherwise. Killed his sponsors and viewers.
(I stole most of this comment from https://www.reddit.com/r/OutOfTheLoop/comments/63gt4f/comment/dfu1ayq/ trying not to plagiarise but also I didn’t remember well enough what happened lol)
I read that earlier and I’m confused why it seems to matter if the vote is above the threshold for the state to flip or not to do a recount.
Take Nevada: " As for Nevada, Spoonamore contended in his letter, “NV - 43K+ 5.5%+ of Trump’s total vote. Enough to exceed recount threshold.” The Nevada government website (archived) reported that — out of 1,487,887 total ballots cast — 1,484,840 ballots contained votes for presidential candidates and 1,464,728 contained votes for U.S. Senate candidates. The mximum number of “bullet votes” is 23,159. Trump received 46,008 more votes in Nevada than Harris. "
Snopes seems to be saying that it doesn’t matter if Trump cheated and sneaked in 23k bullet votes because Kamala would have lost anyway without them. In my view, if ANY cheating occured then that’s like really bad right? Even if it didn’t flip the election?
23k is a little more than half of 43k so the percentage would drop from 5.5% down to 2.8% which is still wayyy over the usual 0.05% bullet ballots which seems very odd and makes it recount worthy. (Note: The 0.05% bullet ballots figure comes from the original article which I haven’t fact checked since idk how so if that’s wrong please correct it “In comparison, bullet ballots for Trump in Oregon, Utah and Idaho—the three states which border Arizona and Nevada, with equally fervent Trump voters—count for less than 0.05% in each state.”)
Not great :(
I’m over in AL and I wish that my state was even on the road toward dragging our state forward. Maybe someday we can kick Kay Ivey to the curb and get a governor like NC.
I went down a huge rabbit hole cause of this. I personally like °F over °C but agree it’s arbitrary. So I tried to make a scale that started at the coldest air temp on earth (some day in Antarctica) and went to the hottest day on earth (some day in death valley) and put the coldest day at 0°A and the hottest at 100°A.
Sadly this made a scale that was less precise than I’d like. I like that I can feel the difference between 73°F and 74°F and don’t want to have to use decimals.
So maybe the end points could be only places where people actually live. Well it looks like some people live in Russia around -70°C and some people live in northern Africa around 50°C so if you just take °C and add 60 you can get a -10 to 110 scale where most temps would fall between 0 and 100. Still has the unit difference of °C (which I don’t like) but I like that most temps are between 0 and 100. I also don’t really like negative temperature since it seems wonky.
To “fix” the unit scale you could just multiply everything by 2 so the difference between each full degree is half as much. So temps would be between -20 and 220. °A = 2(°C + 60) °A = 2(°C) + 120
And it turns out I (basically) created the Fahrenheit scale but moved. °F= 1.8(°C) + 32
TL;DR: I’m stupid and this was fun but also a waste of time lol
Wow I actually really like that idea. I don’t think I would’ve ever come up with it myself. It’d be cool to have a candidate platform made up of the best crowdsourced policy ideas.
Why should Dems follow all the rules when repubs don’t? If anyone cares about the rule, they should have punished the previous committee leaders even though they have an R by their name.
There are incredibly few people in my life who would’ve been worth the massive amount of effort and pain and sheer dedication this kind of conversion requires.
PREACH! I had to cut my sister out of my life because of her stupid MAGA husband. I can’t even begin to imagine how much work it would take to pull someone back from far right to just centrist let alone any more left than that.
I kept my phone number from a different state so everyone that calls from that area code can be ignored. I also have AT&T’s ActiveArmor app (free) and it blocks most of them. I used to get 2-4 a day but I’m down to 1ish a week now.
Answering vs not answering didn’t really ever make a difference for me, but I’ve heard lots of things like don’t answer and they’ll think the line isn’t real or answer but play the do Do DO sound effect or answer but leave it silent. Not sure if any will help.
Neat, I did not know that. I was just trying to make a funny since it looked like it said “oof-ed by GOD”. Thanks for sharing!
I’ll admit I did that. I voted for Bernie in the Primary and then didn’t vote in the General. Although I lived in Oklahoma where Trump beat Clinton by 529k votes and hasn’t been blue in the last 50 years…
I’d like to think I would have voted for Clinton if my vote counted for anything. If we got rid of the electoral college then I feel like the voting percentage would go up across the country as Republicans in California and Democrats in Alabama would suddenly have a reason to actually vote. I live in Alabama now and it is a STUGGLE to get any of my friends to take the time to go vote.
Lmao I hope this is a joke. I live in AL and I’ll have some explaining to do to my gf…
Minimizing to tray by default when you hit the x button.
Especially when there is no way to change the behavior.
Purely commenting on the TikTok and not the article:
“… career fair aimed at women and non-binary tech workers…” and then there’s a TikTok that says “A conference for (wo)men by women” and “the allies are totally allying”
So do only female presenting nonbinary people count?
(I know if you read the article that it says there was an increase in the number of self identifying males but how would the TikToker know that? The TikToker is just looking at the crowd and assuming that the place is overrun with men without actually checking if they’re NB.)
"But there are concerns that programs like this can incentivize spammy posting, or ‘engagement bait.’ "
The cryptocurrency subreddit started this a while back with their Moons and it completely changed how the whole subreddit worked. The monetary incentive seems to ruin any sort of natural engagement.
You can bring back the old control scheme! You can even flip it which my gf uses cause it’s easier for her to reach.
