  • How is that a fix? You added weight to my argument.

“The world” is not letting it happen though. The USA were the only country to veto the 2 cease-fire Security Council resolutions early in the conflict, only to later propose a washed down, toothless resolution.

The USA remains silent over the ICJ’s ruling after South Africa’s genocide case.

The USA are the ones slapping Netanyahu on the wrist but still supplying him with weapons, money and intelligence.

The fact that it’s a 10 year contract has nothing to do with the issue. Surely your weapons and money being used to perpetrate a genocide would be reason enough to breach the contract, if there was political will. The problem is, there isn’t.

That reminds me of that joke:

    Two economists are walking side-by-side.

One tells the other: I’ll give you $100 if you take a shit on the pavement.

He proceeds to shit on the pavement and grab the $100.

He then tells the other economist: I’ll give you $100 if you eat my shit.

The other does the deed and collects his $100.

After walking a few more blocks, one of them says: both of us left our dignity with that work back there and neither of us are any richer!

To which the other responds: no, but we grew our combined GDP to $200.

And they both walked away happy, patting each other on their backs.

Latinum is only valuable outside of the Federation, where societies are not post-scarcity.

Now, before you argue that there are no material conditions demanding scarcity in (some of) them, I’ll add that artificial scarcity is scarcity nonetheless.

I run it on my router which has the CG-NAT IP address.

Whilst you’re right that it could clash, it’s very unlikely (a 1 in 4194302 chance), I imagine Tailscale would detect the clash and change IPs though I could be wrong as it never happened to me (and probably never will - though in all fairness it will eventually happen to someone).

  • You’re not wrong that the storage itself is undoubtedly more robust on any cloud provider than a cheap consumer NAS box.

However, there are other factors to consider.

A NAS or any storage solution is only useful if you can access it if you need and if the network speed and stability match your expectations.

A cloud solution will be inaccessible if your internet is down. It may also suffer tremendously if your connection is unstable or slow.

In that sense, even a laptop’s drive connected to your switch could prove more robust than any cloud solution.
