None for the time being, and I don’t know what I should use if I were to need one. I already use Proton for email so it wouldn’t be my first choice to give even more data to one company, even if they still seem good (though their marketing is relatively aggressive, which feels offputting).

Open Source@lemmy.ml•Results from the survey about LibreOffice Base - Design Community Blog
5·3 days agoI literally only installed Base in order to be able to print labels on a sheet of stickers. Maybe there’s an easier way to accomplish that but using LibreOffice the simplest working setup I could figure out was using Calc for the data and Writer for setting up the sheet and then for some reason you need Base in order to use the Calc data in Writer.
I’ve done it about once thus far so it’s not a routine process yet, though I did write some notes for myself because otherwise there’s no way I would remember all the necessary steps next time I go to do it. I’ve been thinking of using this setup to replace Microsoft Works for an org that still uses that for this same purpose.
“Just don’t be logged in” is not gonna be enough, if the device is the same as you normally use and you haven’t taken extra steps to make sure the device isn’t identifiable. I’d recommend doing this from a public library computer or similar public device.

Open Source@lemmy.ml•California lawmakers unanimously pass Linux exemption from age-verification law — software distributed under the GPL, MIT, BSD, and Apache licenses are exempt
1·17 days agoThey could just change the license of their codebase, if that’s what they wanted to do. No way in hell they care about users enough though, and probably most windows users still don’t care enough even about this to jump ship.

330 is perhaps the most common standard can size in Europe (other common ones being 250, 500, and for beer also 440 and 568 ml). Most drinks that I see that are imported from the USA have strange can (or bottle) sizes, 355 ml being the only one I remember off the top of my head. But I don’t buy them often because A) imperialism and B) they’re expensive.
