The bridge just uses whatsapp web (so you will still “use” it). It works like a dream but you need to trust who ever hosts it as the messages to the bridge are unencrypted. But you dont have to use their app anymore.

Well as long as you don’t do anything illegal according to this guy there is nothing to worry about (obviously if you use uni certificates to use the network they can either way decrypt your traffic).
At my uni you get kicked out if they catch you doing that, so I wouldnt risk doing it on school wifi. I dont know how it is at your uni but at mine they get suspicious when you use a VPN. I would just pirate at a public wifi (Café ect.).
Its a new Browser build from the ground up. I think its called ladybird.
As far as I understand they use a tool called PhotoDNA (AI company acquired by Discord) which they use to scan pictures.
Yeah, like I found the exact same image posted on Twitter since 2 years and it is still up.
I can recommend Jerboa on Android. Used it since the start and never had problems with it (and its lightweight).
Yeah it sucks but at least they have a good Linux AppImage (sadly no BSD). Their Android client is also fine and is on F-Droid.
I am using Tuta and am very happy with it. I like the feature where you can send encrypted Mails to anyone and they’re unlocked via a password (i dont know if others have it). Important for me at least is, that they’re based in germany.
Well I activated it and then uninstalled it and since then it works.
