9·8 months agoOh boy, copyright holders are about to learn about the Streisand effect
No, it was pastel colored and very child friendly, no creepy/eerie atmosphere.
There is an old 2000’s flash escape the room Japanese game where you need to fix a teddy bear. Not only that, it’s a whole game series. In another game of the series you have to open the drawers of a cabinet in the right order according to a calendar or TV.

Technology@lemmy.world•ChatGPT 5 power consumption could be as much as eight times higher than GPT 4 — research institute estimates medium-sized GPT-5 response can consume up to 40 watt-hours of electricityEnglish
1·10 months agoYeah, I saw some people speculating GPT-5 is having worse performance in some tasks than older models but still being forced to everyone because it’s a consolidation and cost cutting version, but how could it be cutting costs if it consumes 8 times more power?

Mildly Interesting@lemmy.world•Only 32% of Catholic priests say that it's important to try and convince others to accept their religion. Evangelical pastors are at 82%.
3·1 year agoFun fact, because of the political power evangelicals keep gaining in Brazil, we say they are transforming our country into “Evangelistan”

10·1 year agoHmm. If a city had some system of central heating, would a data center’s waste heat be used during winter months? I’ve heard of projects to use abandoned mines flooded with water as a sort of thermal battery, could that also be a solution?
Someone actually ran it on a server at my workplace, trying to fix file permissions on a samba share. Broke SSH and the samba daemon. Thankfully I was able to fix by removing the permissions from the config files the error logs pointed to.
Just saying, I think it was a ChatGPT idea, other people use it every day. I only use it if I’m completely stumped, and only take it as suggestions.
