The one good thing the Republican party did was to stop pretending Bush II was popular. They ran away from this guy as soon as Obama was elected and pretended they never met the guy, so they could be a completely new party that couldn’t be held accountable for past ‘mistakes’ (even though their policies never actually changed).

The Democrats on the other hand are still rolling out Clinton on the regular, even though he’s responsible for a lot of issues we’re seeing now, and was good friends with Epstein and Trump.

Even if you learn about the holocaust, nobody really learns about the rise of Hitler and how a sympathetic judiciary and law enforcement gave him the lightest possible sentence for trying to do a coup. You get the impression that Hitler was a bad man who just showed up and singlehandedly invented anti-Semitism and somehow got the whole country on board with the holocaust.

You didn’t even mention that the FTC will greenlight any merger and stop anti trust enforcement. Lina Khan did an amazing job, and that’s a long term, sustainable way to keep inflation at bay. After consolidation across industries combined with tariffs, inflation will go through the roof.

They’ll deny they ever voted for the guy, same as all the Republicans that suddenly realise Bush and Cheney are the worst after cheerleading for them for 8 years.

They’ll finance it with debt, sale of assets and cutting of services. Which is probably even worse

He’s going to be on the cabinet while getting billions in government contracts. The richest man in the world just got a job where he gets to to shovel more government money to himself. And that’s what Trump calls ‘draining the swamp’ and ‘sticking it to the elites’.

And somehow, instead of democrats calling that out, they decided to find their own elites to trot out.

Yep, while it’s technically true that inflation is down, people still struggle with grocery prices having basically doubled, so unless you caused everyone’s wages to rise at least as much, you’re just going to piss people off when you say their lived experience is wrong.

It’s like the people running the campaigns don’t know any regular people.

Trump is similarly out of touch, but he somehow managed to say things that resonate, mostly because his schtick was always that ‘America isn’t what it used to be’.
