Yeah I’m pretty confident the people killed in the holocaust would disagree.

Yeah I’m pretty confident the people killed in the holocaust would disagree.

I was just reading an article about how France’s new PM resigned after 14 hours because to some degree they’re all afraid of tackling the issue of no one being able to afford living anymore. There’s obviously more to it, but my British boss working in the states also told me about how the UK basically had zero options for normal people too. It’s rough everywhere, but we also shouldn’t let that stop us here in the US from trying to make progress on the issue at home.

It wasn’t designed that way, but it turned into a system that forced private enterprise to play pay and benefits catch up.
Also, it was protected and had regulations, but when the people in power simply ignore those regulations it doesn’t matter. The problem here is that people have lived in relative comfort for the last 70 years and were throwing it away to remember what a history book could have taught us.

A time honored tradition of Germany, America, and soon (again) the UK to all turn hard to the right when things get a little tough. Ladies and gentlemen, it’s been an honor to live in such a stable world comparatively to what we’re getting ourselves into going forward. Good luck and be prepared.

I think too, and it’s something I’ve seen with my conservative family, is that here on the west coast we took stock of what was happening in Ukraine. I think for a lot of us here we’re learning how drones as tools of war can help make a small army mighty. I get the feeling that the middle America would want to fight with the weapons of WWII (think artillery and tanks) while we could be utilizing drone and electronic warfare. Either way, I don’t want it to come to that. I’d prefer the MAGA base come back to reality and start realizing they’re the ones that kept going further right and not the “Dems” going further left. It’s crazy how much my family has shifted in ideology over the last decade meanwhile I haven’t changed position, but somehow I’ve become the leftist.

They have that new North East or New England health pact thing! They’re working on stuff, but I think they’re rightfully taking stock of what areas they can afford to hit back on. California can basically take care of itself so we have a lot less to lose if the feds try to shut us down.

Maybe, but freedom is worth fighting for.
Also, remember that during the revolutionary war the French provided support. I’m sure there are lots of countries that, in a civil war, would join with California in providing defensive equipment and offensive weapons. We’re also 10% of the US population with a whole mountain range providing protection and desserts between us and the rest of the “mainland.” So logistically we’re covered very well if we really have to.
They can consider us whatever they want as long as we’re winners I don’t care.

It’s a beautiful thing to see my state leading the charge against MAGA. I’m sure a few other western states will join us when we inevitably break off.
Of note, I was just telling my wife while we were out for a drive last weekend how much I’ve seen our state flag appearing on peoples homes now. Before Trump people in California rarely if ever displayed the Cali flag, but now I see it everywhere, especially in neighborhoods that typically didn’t have them before.

The problem is that for many of the nearly retired folks a job in the government was the promise of a good wage with great benefits and good retirement options. They want it gone because it forced other companies to play catch up in pay and benefits whenever the government could pay better.
It’s also not easy to walk away from a pension program when you’re so invested in it. It’s designed to make people stay long term and put in the work.

Yes please! Let the union place its soldiers back into the confederate states. Just to make sure.

That’s why it’s bolted to a concrete slab from the inside.

It’s a smaller unit for my camera setup and it’s in a cooler area. When I open the safe up it’s basically the same temp. So I’m not worried about thermal performance. At least on that front. The camera system is just for home monitoring. The main components (what you mentioned being concerned about) stay hidden too behind the closet wall in my office and the wall is an interior wall so thermally they stay pretty smooth.

Since the other comments seem to be less than useful ideas on things you didn’t ask about…
I keep my NAS/Video server for my home cameras in my gun safe. Costco has a gun safe (really can be used for anything like documents too since it’s fire rated) that had power cable running to the inside. I used the same path to run a data cable and keep it all locked up in there with a monitor mounted on top and a UPS in the middle. My safe is close to my room with the idea being if someone wanted to break in I’d keep the footage. Not that anyone would, but like you seem to be asking I’m more concerned about the what if.
The rest of the switches/routers/WAP Controller is located in my home office closet inside of one of those on-Q boxes in the wall.

I know a lot of good Mormon people/friends and the ones I’m around are such wonderful people. My heart hurts for them and my thoughts are with their community during this time. How sad.
Someone reported they were in the building right after the first call and mentioned there were 4 canvasses covering people and the cops said it would grow. So I suspect this is an early count before they get to the burned section.

Of course trans people will be here after he’s gone, but the people that elected him to office will also still be here. I’ve been saying it since before the first Trump presidency, but this is going to take a lot more work and a lot of people will need to have their opinions changed, or be forced to accept that trans people deserve to live the same happy, well meaning life the rest of us straight people enjoy (I’m saying straight now because lord knows this administration won’t stop at the T in LGBT).
If you’ve never volunteered for politics before get out and volunteer, phone bank, email, support financially, anything you can do for the next few elections will absolutely make a difference. Use your 2nd amendment right as well. There’s no shame in arming yourself and going to the range. Connect with local friends who know how to shoot and train with firearms or reach out to SRA groups that would be willing to provide assistance. You’d be surprised, but at my local gun range (it’s in Cali for what it’s worth) is fairly diverse and very neutral to all customers. So you won’t get pushed out, just won’t feel all warm and fuzzy from them. This administration seems to be taking stances that obviously mean many minority groups, trans people included, will be under a microscope and critiqued for anything and everything. Don’t assume things will get to a point of needing to use your rights, but also don’t be afraid to prepare and exercise them.

That counter argument only works if you plugged your ears every time they said they would have it fixed in the first week or that the tariffs would make it better quickly.

What’s fucking really stupid is that trump ruined our relationship with Canada because they were “bringing drugs” into our country and he just fucking pardons the legit guy doing it.
How the fuck can he always do the opposite of what’s right?

This sounds like a president legit declaring a civil war… right? Like… I’m not being crazy on this, right?
We did that with CARB and now the feds are trying to stop it after decades of other states signing on because it worked so well here in Cali.
Guns aren’t really what killed people in the holocaust. They would rather the fascist and ideology never existed.
Also, you know we dropped in guns to freedom fighters behind Nazi lines. It’s not a crazy analogy, you’re just stupid.
