To answer your question without being a dickhead: The given x indicates the point on the curve you need to find the slope at. In other words, find the derivative and then evaluate that function at the given x.
Loved my QC25s until they broke. The new versions are a pain to keep charged…
Mocked up a super rough example to try this: https://metronope.bickio.me/
Here’s a super rough demo: https://metronope.bickio.me/
Yeah I’ll code this up today and send you a link
This is similar to some popular exercises for improving your internal pulse. E.g. having the metronome drop out for a number of bars while you’re playing.
My prediction:
On its own, it would be hard to derive the underlying pulse. Even a trained musician would take a little while (my guess is 4+ measures). In the context of a song it would probably have little to no effect.
I could probably test this if anyone’s interested
Technically yes, but a french crepe would be unidentifiable to someone who had only seen American pancakes
This is too good

There are a fair few examples in the book itself. https://qntm.org/clean
Pretty sure it’s the weirdest comment I’ve seen on Lemmy…
Huh that’s a neat problem. My instinct was to use a (fire, regular) tuple for cost, but then what A* heuristic can you use…
I guess run it once with no cost for regular tiles and remove fire from any tiles it used. Then run with normal tile costs, but block fire tiles. That doesn’t break ties nicely of course and I’m not convinced the first pass has a good A* heuristic either…
Oh FFS. Anyone who cares about the blue bubble (and this goes for both senders and receivers) is an idiot, and not someone I’m interested in texting…
Snakebird is one of the best games I’ve ever played, full stop
Probably true in many cases, but I’ve also eaten strawberries straight from the vine which were watery and tasteless… Raspberries are just more consistent
Against the mangoes I can get my hands on? Most fruit is better.
The best mangoes are the slightly tangy, firm, fibrous ones you can find in Australia. Those are absolutely unbeatable.
Here in NZ all you can find are the sickly sweet, soft, smooth fleshed mangoes which just aren’t the same. Might as well buy the tins of Kesar pulp imported from India.
Weird. To me blackberries and strawberries are the most likely to be either bland or overripe/rotten tasting. I would pick raspberries (and maybe blueberries) any day of the week
Didn’t he joke about the CPP in his own standup and is now banned from entering China because of it?
One of the things I loved about Reddit was the super niche experts dropping into the comment section. I’m so glad Lemmy has this too.
