Yeah, I suppose I’m over-estimating the density/amount.
Reddit -> Beehaw until I decided I didn’t like older versions of Lemmy (though it seems most things I didn’t like are better now) -> kbin.social (died) -> kbin.run (died) -> fedia.
Japan-based backend software dev.
Yeah, I suppose I’m over-estimating the density/amount.
Work has me using my current phone for alerts on my on-call rotation. I asked them to send me a pager instead if I can’t properly filter the alerts (Jira on Android has at least 2 sets of notification settings and then there are settings apparently within Jira. I was getting basically every Jira, Confluence, etc. message).
Wouldn’t interference from all the junk in between be at least somewhat of a problem, particularly given that the average GPS receiver already isn’t super sensitive nor accurate?
I had a similar one that ran windows (CE maybe? I don’t recall)
ballcap; I wear one when it’s lightly raining to keep the rain off my glasses.
I find this statement to be pretty yeet.
Same as unfolding them, but in reverse.
FFS. Ohio’s officials need to actually face legal consequences for all its gerrmandering and other fuckery.
Ah. That’d be a nightmare here, probably. Japan is pretty notorious for low tech literacy outside of a few narrow areas. I also think that this might have reliability impacts that just drive people away. Finally, no average japanese person has any idea what the fediverse is, so that’s another hurdle to jump.
I don’t disagree, but the majority of Japanese are just using whichever device is in their pocket (largely iPhones or Android, some feature phones, the occasional tablet, and much more rarely (outside of official business work), an actual full-sized computer).
there is literally no correct answer
I deleted mine years ago but, in Japan, it’s still one of the main ways small shops communicate with their customers. Some use FB or insta instead. They don’t have the knowledge, money, or desire to create a whole website that is far more difficult to interact with and update than the platforms that are free, people use, and are easy to update.
I’m torn between “no teeth (just gums) and a mouth stuffed with chocolate pudding (specifically the one that many American buffet restaurants use)” and “crunching jagged jawbreakers (or rocks)”
Maybe they’re leaving room for improvement?
The only time I ever liked plain milk was still warm out of the cow. These days, I just don’t drink milk except for a very rare (couple of times a year) chocolate milk or milkshake where I don’t taste the milk itself, really.
Breed and diet definitely impact milk flavor and fat percentage, but some types of pasteurization seem to as well.
This is not an endorsement to drink milk that has not been pasteurized.
Aside from that, particularly with regard to colostrum, some people think treating the milk can damage things. As mentioned, I’m not a milk drinker to begin with, but I have no idea if (a) there are any studies showing benefits or even effects of drinking colostrum, particularly as an adult and from something other than a human or (b) regardless of point a if there is even any study on heat damaging it. I watch a lot of farming/homesteading content and some people are really into this.
“farewell” and “last date ever”, they always say. As soon as the money runs out… BAM! Time for another tour.
I somehow flipped over one of the bars and bashed my head on the deck (wooden on ours rather than metal) when I was around 6 or 7 years old. No stitches, though I don’t see any noticeable scar. I don’t remember much aside from seeing blood and a headache.
I have an LG with WebOS and have youtube premium and haven’t seen any ads so far (though it may be regional). Cheers for the link, tough. I wonder if it works on Japanese versions
You realize that birth control, plan B, and abortions are very much a thing here, right? These “we need them to drink so we can impregnate them” posts always creep me out a bit.
Well, I have “getting up before 2 or 3 (depending on US daylight saving time) to get ready for renewal” to look forward to. I’m not sure if that’s better than the time/money to travel to Tokyo.
