Its not a typical showerthought, but it doesn’t seem to be doing harm, just people having good fun, so I’ll let it go for now and let the votes do the talking.

I think I was wrong originally. My current understanding is that they did deliberately disadvantage pregnant woman: https://lemmy.world/comment/17597987
Oh so I didn’t understand it correctly. Thank you for pointing it out. The difference between pregnant woman and everyone else is when the 90% pay kicks in.
So in general, people get 100% pay the first day of sick leave and 90% every day following.
They made a special carve-out for pregnant women so they get 90% on the first day.
Yeah that’s shitty to go out of your way to hurt pregnant woman.
If I understand correctly (I didn’t), everyone got the cut to 90% except woman on maternity leave and pathological pregnancy. They are upset that if a pregnant woman otherwise takes sick time, they will see the 90% pay like everyone else.
The headline made it sound like women were getting 90% pay for the entire pregnancy.

Not that power input and light output are exactly the same but the Las Vegas sphere is 28MW
Good point, the lights on a boat or airplane (probably not a train) are red on the left and green on the right. Not sure how international that is.
My favorite mnemonic: “We have some red port left”
Left if you are facing direction of travel = port = the red light
So “here” is close enough for your needs. “There” is too far away to be useful.
Arguably you are touching, or nearly touching, both of those things.
Not a lot of places where silencers are legal, right?
Way to go.
Yeah, some people want to be seen as different to stand out from the crowd, but if you identify someone as being different it can be considered “othering”.
