What really boggles me is when I open a game and the ui buttons are ai. Why? It must have taken you longer to have your engine generate those graphics than it would’ve to just grabbed some royalty free ones. I really don’t understand it. I’ve even seen what are clearly ai generated emojis as buttons.

I’ve been filtering my search results to not show anything after 2020 for a while now. The only annoying thing is that I have to do it every time I search, I’d love a way to set it as default.

I do, but I try to catch myself from saying uh and um between sentences. Similarly, I’ve noticed I have a habit of breathing in sharply after I say something, which I’m sure no one else notices but I feel is still annoying.

I think the meaning is still valid, bass is low key and generally lowkey, it isn’t overly noticed in a band or song.

I see, I think my answer still remains the same then. Having a timer sucks, but knowing I have a somewhat specific job I was made for would be comforting.

Sure, being a slave would be bad, though, the question is what I would do if I found out I was a replicant, so I assume my life up to this point has been the same. Even if they were fake memories, I in some way was allowed to live a middling existence, which is still fine with me, even if someone came to my door tomorrow and said I had to go be an asteroid miner now.

Be happy that I was actually put on this Earth for some purpose, if only to be someone’s experiment or whatever (I don’t know Blade Runner)

Unfortunately I need to sign-in to use old reddit now. Haven’t made a reddit account yet and it looks like I’m giving up lurking and checking random reddit links from a web search over starting now.

It probably has something to do with the player character physically being on the ground with the pikmin, throwing them to their demise. In most RTSes you’re a faceless overlord commanding the troops from up on high.

In general, I try not to make any promises at all, and don’t really trust any promises made by others. Humans are fickle creatures, and the world is an even more fickle place by comparison. Sure, I can try to do this thing for you tomorrow, but if I said I’ll definitely do it, and a tornado suddenly touched down and tore the city apart, I wouldn’t be able to make good on that promise, now would I?

Ticks, sure, plenty of things to eat them and they’re only a problem a few times of year here. But I think the ecosystem will survive the removal of mosquitos, even if some animals might suffer for a while or perish as well. Flies come close to the amount of annoyance I receive from the mosquito, but not close enough. I hate them so much, my perception of what seasons I like and hate is entirely dependant on if mosquitos (and other bugs) are around more often.

In the same way you’ve learned to tolerate bugs, I used to be fearful of spiders, though I never hated them. Nowadays I love to see a spider making itself at home in my room, the kitchen, the porch, the basement, etc. A bug trap installing itself at no cost to me, what could be better?

Counters? Oh you must be confused, those are just convenient shelves for bowls of fruit nobody asked for or will eat. Those should go on the kitchen table? That’s a good one, everyone knows that thing is only meant for bags, satchels, notebooks, and trays that could conceivably hold something but do not. And not only does stuff not go on ice cube trays, stuff also does not go on the bottom of the freezer! It’s literally sloped so you can’t do that. And if for some god-forsaken reason you have to put something down there, don’t put it over the defrost drain! Otherwise everything in the freezer gets covered in frost and we have to take everything out to clean it out! Ask me how I know!!

My mom firmly believes that empty space is a sin. No matter the context; fridge, attic, basement. This made sense when I was very young, we were a family of 8 and she was the only one working, so she always went insane with coupons, and sales, and “free” stuff. We are no longer a family of 8, nor are we insanely poor, yet her habits have not changed. It pisses me off when I open the freezer, and find it packed like the opening game of Jenga. How the hell am I supposed to find anything in here, let alone reach it? I’d have to take everything out first, and then somehow put it back.

I agree. I specifically want an option to remove new users’ posts from my feed. With the hope that by the time Lemmy doesn’t consider them new anymore, they’ve either chilled out and post like a normal person instead of spamming, or they’ve been removed from their community for being a nuisance or bot.

Same here. Shortly after I joined the Fediverse I didn’t want my feed to look like Reddit’s, so I made a rule that if I saw more than one post by someone on my feed at a time that I’d block them. The majority of these are new accounts, so I’d also like the option to filter these accounts out.

I haven’t used kagi before, is there a way to disable the AI assistant? I understand I don’t have to use it, but I’d rather it not be on my screen at all.

Civilization VI, I usually make “multiplayer” games so that I can set every AI’s team and difficulty, and I’ll make a somewhat large map with way too many players, each on teams of two or three, and then one AI will be the god-emperor-king that we all have to band together to defeat.

The fundamental problem with questions like these is that people are inclined to upvote morals they agree with, and downvote the ones they don’t like, instead of upvoting answers that fit the question of unpopular. I don’t know that there’s much to be done about that though.

That’s true I suppose. I may be overly cynical (and clinical) when it comes to such things, I think that stems from the extremely stifling household I grew up in, where my parents wanted me to be religious, wanted everyone to know I was religious, and wanted me to let everyone know I was religious, as if I was a lucky one to find salvation. At some point the browbeating wore off, and I realized whatever opinions and beliefs I held didn’t make me more or less than anyone else, and that no one else’s would make them any more or less than the average human to me. (So long as their opinions and beliefs don’t bring harm to others, that is.)
