2 months agoDid you know we only experience pink as our red and blue cell receptors being stimulated at the same time? There is no pink wavelength.

5·8 months agoThe simple argument as to why this wouldn’t make conservatives happy is that they want as many babies as possible: preaching for big families, destroying contraception, abortion rights, etc. Birthrates were falling but the orphan-crushing machine requires new blood.
In that sense as weird as this 4B movement sound it’s most definitely a big middle finger to that all.
You say that as if machines don’t get dirty and still require a good amount of hygiene/cleaning to keep up
Don’t get me wrong though because I am also in favor of automation only because I believe it will make some parts of work more bearable, minus the job displacement problem caused by our current economic model…

How is lab grown meat change for the sake of change? There’s obvious benefits to it: no more need to breed beings just to eat them, less resource-intensive, frees up land, and I might be missing others
8·2 years agoTechnically speaking it would pick up the men in metal armors, not the wooden horse per se.
But the barrier would lift for the wooden horse full of men in armor indeed.

If not immune then what, how do you explain someone that never bought something he saw in one of the countless ads thrown at him?
102 is “hundred-two” so it’s only weird for 70 “sixty-ten”, 80 “four-twenty” and 90 “four-twenty-ten”…
But the way I learned it each was like it’s own word, even if it’s not. Just don’t think about it too much!
I am never sick when doing roller coasters or reading in a moving car, but I was really nauseous after my first 15-min VR session. I was pretty scared I fucked up buying a Valve Index only to get that much sick playing… But I had a feeling (hope?) that I could get used to it: After about 2 weeks of playing a bit every night I was no longer getting sick at all. I can go until the controllers run out of battery now.
To me the effort was worth it, but I have a friend that was the opposite and didn’t enjoy experiencing virtual worlds that way…
My advice: If you ever try it then try to ignore the sickness -as you can get used to it- and focus on how much you enjoy being immersed in virtual worlds.

On the other hand I hope my point was clear about pink being perceived as a color when it doesn’t exist as a singular wavelength on the electromagnetic spectrum: something the person I was responding to was seemingly arguing that it then invalidates what we might call a “color”. By his logic “pink” shouldn’t be considered a color, which I disagree with!
