You want to take the derangement a step further, deep fry the dough then put the toppings on and put it under the broiler to brown the cheese or whatever you want. It’s amazing. Just let the dough get slightly golden brown, just a minute or two on each side. It tends to rise a lot so spread it on the thin side unless you like it more like Sicilian.
Merely hearing that sentence gave me 100 calories
Chip shop near me when I was growing up used to deep fry frozen deep dish cheese pizza. Would recommend.
