Catholics by and large support Trump (anecdotally, my Catholic family seems split on him)

Oh my gosh! The Catholic Church itself, unlike the Catholics in America, is an institution that wants to maintain its own power and independence, regardless of what fleeting dictator might be in charge. There’s nothing moral to it, it’s just the institution looking out for itself. They will long outlast Trump, so there’s no reason to give up power to him.
