Anxiety over federal immigration detentions has gripped thousands of residents in the area and led many to limit the time they spend in public.

The key issue is that ICE isn’t looking for criminals or recent arrivals; they’re trying to sweep up anybody whose skin is too dark. Hence the need for citizens to carry passports at all times.

Well IDK about that, but they are not sent to prison in Venezuela, they are being sent to their home country.

Yes it’s completely insane, I have no idea how that is legal? AFAIK it clearly isn’t legal under the American constitution , where you are considered an American if you are born on US soil. And the base in Germany is AFAIK US soil.

But AFAIK the treatment of everyone is illegal if they don’t see a judge before being expelled.
It’s absolute insanity, and it’s insane Americans are allowing it to happen.

Except the supreme court is breaking with many decades of legal practice.
I’d argue the current supreme court has been stacked to follow a political agenda over upholding the law. Which makes the supreme court itself illegal in their practice of the law.
Which is why it is insane that Americans have kept allowing this since George Bush! To a point where the system now is completely broken.
