    I’ve always assumed this was an intentional reference by the DS9 creative team - right down to the running gag about Morn never shutting up.

    The weirdest thing about watching old sitcoms that one last saw as a kid is seeing all these characters we used to regard as “old people” looking so young.

      Everyone in Cheers was in their 20s and 30s. I remember them seeming old when I was a kid.

        Rewatching as a 37 year old, I about fell out of my chair when they mention in the first season that Norm is 35.
