The safest city for pedestrians is Lincoln, Nebraska. It’s also the sole city on our list with only one pedestrian fatality in 2023. Stockton, California, is especially deadly for cyclists, with more than two fatalities per year per 100,000 residents. Arizona has three cities that appear in the top 10 most deadly places for both pedestrians and cyclists. Twenty cities reported zero cyclist fatalities in 2023.
