Ohh, what’s really going to bake your noodle later on, is why do forklift drivers, who operate in carefully controlled environments, need to be recertified every 3 years, but drivers, who operate on public roads around children and pedestrians, only need to be recertified every … never … ?

Some places take forklift certification seriously, some don’t. There’s no way to get a driver’s licence without going through some government run program, whereas companies provide forklift certification to their employees. My work just gives it to everyone. I got mine day 1 and had never driven a forklift before. My friend works at a Walmart warehouse and had to take like 20 hours of courses and driver training before getting his.

y’know I never thought about it like that. I’ve had to get certified as a forklift driver twice in the time that I’ve had my current driver’s license.

I printed this out a couple years ago and taped it to the forklift at work.

They take forklift safety and procedures very seriously.

On the contrary. Punks care very much about procedures. They spend a lot of time learning about them just to subvert them.

I think you’re confusing punks with Pascal programmers.

I’m not. I don’t understand how you would program a unit of pressure.

Social pressure forces people to do strange things sometimes. Like prioritise procedures over functions.
