Inspirational credit to aeronmelon@lemmy.world for suggesting 90’s Nickelodeon beyond just Rocko’s Modern Life.
Top image: “How I look in the mirror”
Bottom image: “How I look on camera”Why/how does a digital camera manage to fuck your face up so bad? Every wrinkle, pore, crater, valley is accentuated vs. looking relatively smoother in the mirror.
It’s all part of the machines’ plan for conquest. They start by destroying our self-esteem.
It also took me till I was like 25 to realize that different mirrors and different cameras make you look different. There’s a few different mirrors in my life that I’m like “man I hope this is how I actually look.”
50% for you, 50% for you, and 50% for me. 50/50/50!
If you flip that image you’d have me throughout my teens, twenties and early thirties. I always thought I was hideous (especially teens amd early twenties). I looked at some photos from back then and realized, decades late, that I was hot as fuck.
How I’ve always pictured you:
Hmm. Graying and demeanor check out. Not as tall and chiseled. Somewhere closer to O’Brien.
So you’re saying you should fix the lighting
How I think of you is none of your business
I suppose you’re right. Just the self-conscious creeping in.
Opposite for me.
