Maybe it’s just me but I really don’t like this show as much as I thought I did at the beginning. I think I was so happy to have the original formula back that I kinda glossed over a lot of the problems. Still love the cast and set designs and stuff, but as amazing as Ethan peck has been acting as Spock, the writing around him has been ridiculous (how many Spock-in-awkward-situations episodes do we need?) and doesn’t sit with his characterization in TOS. They talked about explaining Spock’s smiling in the second pilot, but his saying “Ah yes, one of your earth emotions” makes so much less sense with all the exploration of emotion he has done here.
You know, I disagree. I think this season is genuinely significantly worse than both of the previous ones. No season has been perfect, but the past two had episodes I’d still rank close to some of Trek’s best. Memento Mori, Ad Astra per Aspera, Under the Cloak of War, all really great. I don’t know what happened this season, but none of these episodes come close to those. And a couple, like this finale, are just terrible.
Didn’t liked much the episode, best parts the Kirk-Spock interactions, and Im not a TOS guy.
The Pike finale with Batel was bad, also it was annunciated before, so no surprise when it happens which does it worst.
Worst SNW season so far. Not terribly bad, ,but definitely not good
I don’t know, it reminded me a BIT too much of how Supernatural handled (or didn’t really) two certain characters.
Loved SNW so far
But yeah, this season was overwhelmingly mediocre
