Two teenagers who peed into a pot of broth at a hotpot restaurant have been ordered to pay 2.2m yuan ($309,000; £227,000) to two catering companies in China.
The incident, which happened in February at a Shanghai branch of China’s biggest hotpot chain Haidilao, sparked widespread criticism after the 17-year-olds posted a video of their drunken act online.
I’ll just leave this here.
What a terrible day to have eyes
Wtf did I just read…
Virgin boy eggs are widely accepted as a tradition in the city.[3] Boy egg vendors go to elementary schools in the city where they collect urine from young boys, preferably under the age of ten. Children who have been raised in the city are used to the practice, and relieve themselves in basins that the vendors place in the hallways. The teachers often remind the boys not to urinate in the basins if any of them have a fever or feel ill.[3][5] Some vendors wait with containers in parks or public restrooms for a parent who is willing to let their child offer urine.
They like the dong young in dongyang
Cream of Sum Yung Gai.
Yeah, I was thinking, depending on the kind of hotpot that’s not an out-of-order ingredient. Clearly, even in China that’s a weird and challenging local delicacy, though, so these teenagers got uber-fined.
After all that pee pee in your coke, they can’t just take a joke in China.
Also, isn’t boy piss used in thousand year eggs?
Separate dishes, century eggs don’t involve urine.
I salute your high context joke. My wife didn’t get it but I thought it was hilarious. Looking forward to the next time there is an incident involving fudge or lemonade.
Unfortunately, I think the joke is going over most people’s heads. Which is ironic because I learned the song in kindergarten.
Very expensive soup.
Fine might be a better word option here instead of pay. I was reading this title and wondering to myself, why would someone pay so much to pee in soup.
Where can we see the video?
Maybe a couple of organ donations to Pooh Bear might pay it off.
Damn, two months of pocket money down the drain.
The cook… This is not semen! I asked for semen!
Why though? Do they not replace the broth between customers? The teens would have been the only ones using it.
In China they often reuse it.
There’s also something called gutter oil.
“But, Your Honor, we were only trying to provide the diners with a lower-sodium alternative to soy sauce. You know, for their health.”
