          Can you imagine how nice the world would be if it rotated just a bit slower?

          No difference at all. We’d just be forced to work harder and burn out quicker.

          I take solace that the 24 hour clock is somewhat immutable to the slave drivers that run our soceity

              Of course, but our working rights have been heavily eroded the last few decades (name me one person who strictly works 8 hours anymore for a livable wage).

              My comment was to say that I’m glad there’s a hardcoded maximum to how long a day physically can be, as a stopgap to any further oppression

                …that would be me. I work 37h/week and make 160% of the median pay in my country. I would say I’m definitely making a living wage.

                  That sounds amazing and congrats to you for securing such a career. I’d say I’m earning similar, and it’s by no means livable, but yes YMMV
