Chair. Look at Mr fancy over here, who can afford chairs. It’s the floor next to the bed in my case.
Just crawl through it in the morning and you’re dressed!
I present to you: The pile.
The Corner
Living in a two-story house is such a blessing - the stairs make perfect shelves for clothes. There’s a workout-clothes stair, an indoor-clothes stair, an outdoor-clothes stair, and let’s not forget the laundry stair, from where I (in theory) move dirty clothes up to the basket as I go upstairs, as well as the clean-clothes stair, from where I (in theory) move them back to the closet which is also upstairs.
the stairs are truly the intestine of the house
Omg I would literally kill myself if I tried this. Not on purpose or anything, but frankly I’m amazed I haven’t yet killed myself. My stairs fucking suck.
They are old original stairs and they turn a corner halfway. Where they turn, there is a four-stair fall in the inner corner if your foot slips. Meanwhile on the far side it’s unclear how much further they go, because they aren’t particularly logically shaped, or even.
I have a thing with 6 hooks on it that attaches to the top of my bedroom door. That’s where I put clothes I’ve worn already that I intend to wear again before I wash them. Also my coat and hat.
Upgrading from chair-and-floor piles to the same solution as you was a massive improvement. I can’t believe it took me literal years to buy a simple little hook-thingy to put on my door.
…actually
*looks around*
I can believe it. It makes a lot of sense it would take years now that you mention it. Nevermind.Look at this smarmy, fancy pants actually being functional and shit– figuring out a way to easily hang up their clothes and not use the pile, like us heathens. /j
I also use hooks. It’s better than using a chair. But, I recently saw an upgrade to the simple set of hooks in Ikea: a pegboard. A pegboard lets you customize it so you can have hooks for small things (like a hat) and other hooks for longer things (pants, etc.) I haven’t tried it yet, so I might be missing something, but it seems like an upgrade to hooks to me. In the past, I also just went with a coatrack. It’s pretty compact and lets you keep the back of your door for a towel or something like that.
The closest what?
You had to point it, didn’t you ?
shout out to Bernie’s clothes chair
Chairdrobe and floordrobe.
But you have to at least lay them over the backrest so they don’t become too wrinkly. At first. Then when it becomes unmanageable you can just pile them on.
Simone Giertz built herself a chair for this exact purpose.
Hey, remember: the floor is the biggest shelf in your house
Stop spying on my house. That’s creepy.
Why call me out to hard, what did I do to you? I’d sit in the chair to calm down, but it’s obviously covered in clothing.
Au Contraire, my clothes chair is reserved for only the cleanest laundry.
Ah, yes. The Floor
that’s the “LRU cache”
I’ve got a designated bean bag chair for this
SAME
I wear the same jumper (at this time of year) and tracksuit pant combo during the day and the same hoodie with pyjama pant ensemble at home in the evenings on week days.
They hang on command strip hooks on the side of my wardrobe with two smaller hooks on the front for my morning dressing gown and night time post shower dressing gown on.
Ooooh, la dee dah. A morning dressing gown and an evening dressing gown? Does your butler hang it up for you?
I sold “the chair” about half a year ago. Now they take up half the sofa & some floor by the bed.
