many people say farmers create the food, but actually, the plants do most of the work, they’re out there in the field every day, growing. while the farmers only visits twice a year: to sow and to harvest

    nah it’s not a joke

if farm work was what produced food, then putting in twice the work (from twice as many people) would produce twice the amount of food; which is false because agricultural areas are limited. so farm work is not the limiting factor, plant growth is.

farmers are really really overworked, because they produce food for 100x people. if they only produced food for 10x they wouldn’t be overworked, but companies try to squeeze personnel which is why farm employees are constantly overworked, and the profit margins are so low that small farmers struggle.

Ah the old it takes one woman 9 months to make a baby, so 9 women should only take one month right?

Yes, the plant does the growing - because of the work the farmer does. Carefully selected, tested and bred seeds (for example) become a single monoculture thriving against diseases, pests and other plant species whilst living in demarked land that is just right - nice ph, correct composition with sufficient nutrient, aeration and irrigation.

None of that happens by accident.

Damn, just giving it all to the plants and fuck all for the fungi and insects doing their part in the cycle that provides the nutrients plants need? What vile botanicalcentrism and outlandish kingdom level elitism. You owe fungi and insects a sincere apology.
