Friend of mine is a brain researcher here on an H1-B visa, he’s so terrified of losing his sponsored status, he won’t attend any Prides or protests or anything because they use that against you now. So, he’s waiting for his green card so he can be more out of the closet. Hearing this saddened me. We have surely gone backwards, measurable harm has been done to us.

Chuds on Facebook are absolutely foaming at the mouth about pride month and it’s only day 1.
My mom just dropped “Can you get married so your dad and I can look good in front of our friends? Also, what’s the point of having a good job and financial stability if you’re single, right?”
She wants me to get married and have grandchildren ASAP. Literally the only thing they want in life is grandkids so they can look good in front of their peers.
So yeah, I never plan on telling them I’m gay cuz they would never understand, but that whole idea makes me wanna die so yeah. Crazy how they can’t create their own happiness. They expect me to give their lives fulfillment. It’s my responsibility to make them happy at the cost of my own happiness. Makes sense. \s
