I got to stop watching these and get some work done. Or start my own federation with blackjack and hookers.

This meme would be a lot funnier if you swapped Jadziya for Rom and changed nothing else

Edit: and also fixed the spelling of “capitalism”

Well you think that, but just like Dax, the yoke of capilatism is appealling. Then you remember you aren’t just getting into bed with Jadziya, but with an old grizzle man, few other strangers, maybe even a being with barbed genitals. There’s an old saying in Tennessee — I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can’t get fooled again

I remember back when I thought the “Fool- fool me once” thing was the dumbest thing a politician could say. Then things… changed.

Well I mean Leeta did do way better than Dr. Britishbritches there, and with actual capitalism no less.

Which reminds me, watching Certifiably Ingame (YouTube) cover the Hurq war arc (specifically interacting with Dr Bashir) was the most British piece of Star Trek apocrypha ever. Especially the denouement of the Ferengi heist episode lol

Star Trek is an inherently political show. TOS is often cited as airing the first interracial kiss on American television.

Connecting political affiliation to race is kind if a backwards way of thinking. Anyway, my point was to keep this community silly and unpredictable. Don’t let the the political circle jerkers ruin this like they did so many others.

Uhh, have you watched an actual episode of any Trek series? Or did my sarcasm detectors just fail?
Maybe have to run a level-1 diagnosis on the whole fucking array again :/

I’ve watch all of them (except for the new ones)

Star trek has nothing to do with your personally dislike of money. We live in the real world. My point is that we should post star trek shit in a star trek shit posting community. Don’t ruin this like so many other communities. I don’t want to see a single post about how your suffering, the worlds burning or anything else doom and gloom

Nah, politics is fine. Communist propaganda like this meme is the real issue.

How about a fully state-controlled economy?

Not capitalism, since there’s no private capital; not communism, since there’s a state.

          Ok, anti-capitalist propaganda.

Probably shouldn’t assumed, after all its not like theres a bunch of communists on lemmy, and communism isn’t the only alternative to capitalism.

Star Trek, where… Federation = better vision of humanity = post capitalism. Ferengi = not depicted to be admirable = capitalists.

Sure, the society depicted in Star Trek is basically post-scarcity luxury space communism so we do not need propaganda anymore, I agree.
