I’ve really tried to stop drinking less these days and it’s working. I was doing great during my recovery from my car accident, I didn’t drink at for months but once I got better I backslid into my old habit of one or two beers a night.

I’ve spent the better part of a few weeks cutting down to only once or twice per week and now im going to try a full 30 days in November. It’s not really a challenge since I know I spent the better part of several months not drinking but im still looking forward detoxing and getting a bit healthier.

I know this is likely just a meme post, but substance abuse is not really something we should be glamorising or normalising.

I don’t think this is normalizing it at all. There’s more of a self-deprecating subtext, and it’s not too dissimilar to the humor I hear from other addicts/alcoholics (been sober from alcohol since 2017 myself)

It’s something we should be able to openly talk about as substance abuse is an illness. You can also make memes about an illness as a means of coping with it or to commiserate over it with others.
