not lying: Actually that’s another funny thing since Kalmarunionen is also not etymologically related to calamari either, which also is “kalmari” in Finnish. Kalmarunionen comes from the swedish city of Kalmar, which has it’s name origin in “kalm” meaning some kind of pile of rocks, even a memorial grave kind of thing, so that’s close! However, at least the language bank of Finland considers this an unlikely origin for the Finnish kalma and suggests other roots, see https://sanat.csc.fi/wiki/Etymologiadata:imsm:kalma
Kalma linux sounds like the goth version, especially in Finnish, where kalma is a kind of synonym for death
Is this in any way related to Kalmarunionen?
if not, please lie to me
lying: yes, definitely!
