Texas rejects science textbooks for explaining climate change

The textbooks are required to cover climate change. I’m sure the books were rejected for a variety of stupid reasons, but not merely containing information about climate change.

A Republican-controlled Texas State Board of Education on Friday rejected seven of 12 proposed science textbooks for eighth graders that for the first time will require them to include information on climate change.

Poorly written sentence. The very next paragraph states:

The 15-member board largely rejected the books either because they included policy solutions for climate change or because they were produced by a company that has an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) policy.

That states the reasons for rejection were:

        1. they included policy solutions for climate change

        2. they were produced by a company that has an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) policy

The title of the post states that books were rejected for explaining climate change.
