House Republicans may hold an official vote in the coming weeks on authorizing their impeachment inquiry into President Biden.

    Sadly, the Constitution is very vague on this point. They could impeach him for the color of his tie if they wanted. What history would say about that vote is a secondary concern to them.

    I’m pretty sure that even Preacher Speaker Johnson knows this is a political loser for them. It’s purely red meat for their base, and it’ll piss off the other two-thirds of the voting public. But given the dysfunction in the House right now, he might not have much choice.

      Clinton was much more popular after his impeachment than before, because Americans seem to be able to smell a bullshit impeachment and are able to tell it from actually trying to do something about Trump’s political overreach.
