    Rich white men throw pocket change at child of Indian immigrants. $500K isn’t that much, they didn’t even open their checkbooks

      Agreed it’s not that much in context. However, the article says 125 people, which means roughly everyone in attendance gave near the maximum legal limit for individual candidates.

        Sticking to the legal limit, are they? If they’re not finding loopholes and shady backways to funnel her more money (as is the behavior I have come to expect) I have to assume that they aren’t actually all that invested.

        ETA: Not saying they AREN’T doing that still. I just haven’t heard about it (yet)

          Yeah, I just don’t think that’d be openly tallied in the article, by definition, in this context. From a formal political perspective, going to an event and having all 125 people give the maximum amount is baller. In the real-world, she’d better have those shady back-channels active, too. Trump raised $25 million in a day back in 2019.
