Interesting you should say that. I’ve visited there and it’s a remarkable place. At the time I was reading a Tom Clancy novel and he had the same thought for all of Jerusalem. To make peace, he wrote, it should be protected by the Swiss Guard from the Vatican

So the Christians should take control?

This meme seems oddly relevant to this discussion.

That was Clancy’s idea of the best of alternatives

Don’t know. Religion doesn’t have much to do with it I think. The Swiss Guard are basicly Swiss mercenaries.

The Church of the Holy Sepulchre’s keys have been in the hands of a Muslim family for centuries to prevent Christians from different denominations from murdering each other, so there’s already a precedent for it.

I’m sure there’s no bad blood in the area from the last times Christians tried to take Jerusalem.

Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.
