    What else is new?

It is easier for more well off individuals to access benefits than those who truly require it.

Systems are often hard to navigate, terribly bureaucratic and staffed with uninterested and often malicious and callous individuals.

Paired with policies veering towards cutting off social benefits and taxation fairness, those who are already vulnerable get even more vulnerable.

We are as strong as the weakest among us.

And this is not a call to abandon the weak. Is the reminder that the stronger must care for and build up the weaker.

This is what I don’t really get about a lot of the capitalists and neo-liberals, most of these measures to significantly increase the quality of life of the poor and education and health are not that expensive but would result in a much stronger and more productive overall society. That is something that even people who don’t care about the moral aspect should want.

But stronger society equals less Power for the rich. Why would they do that?

Ofc, If everything is fucked (climate i.e.), they could Just lift Off to Alpha centauri… Or can they…

Well here in Germany conservatives and the liberal party are whining and spewing hate over a new social aid aimed to lift poor children out of poverty.
