Usually what people in capitalist countries actually mean is social democracy, also known as the “Nordic model”: capitalism with a social safety net. Democratic socialism means socialism of some form or another, usually one that isn’t Marxist-Leninist. Usually what people in capitalist countries actually mean is social democracy, also known as the “Nordic model”: capitalism with a social safety net.
