      No.

People were offered a choice between a full on fascist and a normal, middle of the road politician.

People decided that getting off their asses and voting was too much trouble.

If a student gets an “F” in a class because they didn’t study it’s not the teacher’s fault.

      Stop blaming the Dems.

Look, I held my nose and voted for Harris. I absolutely blame anyone who didn’t do the same. But I also blame the Democratic Party for absolutely abandoning the working class, that’s for damn sure!

Yes, because pardoning student loans and keeping Obamacare strong was abandoning the working class.

And how many people outside of the political class even know who Liz Cheney is?

Maybe instead of holding your nose, you could have been using both hands to get Harris votes?

Biden did fuck-all for student loans. Every single loan forgiven was one that was always supposed to have been forgiven under the terms that existed at the time they were taken out. Biden followed the existing law. Granted, that’s better than can be said about the fascist saboteurs who illegally stonewalled it before, but it’s still the bare minimum!

Ditto for “keeping ObamaRomneycare strong.” First of all, “keeping” isn’t a change for the better, by definition. Second, the ACA is extremely mediocre and enshrines a bunch of insurance middlemen that should’ve been eliminated entirely.

Meanwhile, where’s the support for unions? Where’s the minimum wage increase? Where’s the Wall Street reform? Where’s the anything that would actually move the needle for workers? It was completely absent!

WTF is wrong with you, that you think Biden should be hailed as some kind of champion for doing the bare fucking minimum? I expect better, and you should too.

Maybe instead of holding your nose, you could have been using both hands to get Harris votes?

Maybe you should fuck off with the uncivil personal attacks.

Yet somehow we went 4 years before (and will go another 4 years) without any loans being forgiven. I don’t get how your argument supports your Biden Bad narrative. I understand that he wasn’t able to forgive more loans without breaking the law. Is that what you want, a president that breaks the law to uphold his campaign promises? Because, if so, I’ve got great news for you!

It doesn’t! Of course it doesn’t! Because I’m not making a “Biden bad” narrative in the first place!

Biden mostly competently executed the law (with the glaring exception of prosecuting Trump). He faithfully upheld the status quo. Kamala would certainly do the same. Almost none of that is “bad.”

But what I’m saying is that being “not bad” clearly wasn’t enough! You can’t deny that, at least – the election results prove it. It is now a historical fact, not an opinion, that in order to actually win, the Democrats needed to do more than the bare minimum of not being bad. Why is that so fucking hard to get the people in this thread to understand?!

Hold on, I’m getting some updates in my ear piece… They’re telling me Cheney wasn’t on the ballot, and you’re just making excuses to justify why you couldn’t vote for Kamala knowing that the donvict would be worse in every possible way.

Not you “you”, but the royal “you”.

Whether or not you voted for Kamala, you’re still trying to justify the actions of those who let this happen. So, sorry if you feel attacked for that, but if you do, it’s probably for a good reason.

                Didn’t you understand?

So, sorry if you feel attacked for that, but if you do, it’s probably for a good reason.

More uncivil non-apology bullshit. You are lying and you need to knock it off.

More to the point, you need to knock off your toxic uncritical cheerleading for politics as a team sport. You, by setting low expectations, are the real reason the Democrats lose, not me!

During the election, by the way, I wasn’t saying things like this. I was telling everybody to vote for Harris like a good little Democrat – check my comment history if you don’t believe me. But the election is over now. Now is the time for review and analysis of what went wrong and what needs to change. And yet you’re still demanding fealty to “vote blue no matter who” and telling me that I’m still wrong to criticize? But if not now, when? Tell me that!

The Democrats need reform if there’s any chance of fixing this catastrophe. Why do you want to prevent that from happening?

                    Exactly!

That includes everyone who didn’t vote for Harris and it includes the Democratic Party itself.

And – let me be absolutely clear about this – fuck everyone on here who keeps trying to pretend the two halves of that sentence are some kind of mutually exclusive thing!

Did you work for Harris, or did you shrug your shoulders and walk away?

Knock it off with the victim-blaming! No matter how much somebody did, you’ll simply accuse them of failing to do more just to absolve your precious party from any responsibility whatsoever.

That kind of entitled attitude is why the Democrats lost.

You’re blaming everybody who didn’t literally “work for Harris.” Voting was not enough for you in that comment, so don’t try to pretend that’s what you were talking about now!

Dems may have dropped the ball, but it’s still the voters fault for not voting. Anyone trying to blame the party for the choices of the people is just trying to deflect guilt for their shitty choices.

We all knew this would happen, and some of us even said as much only to be told it was the Dems responsibility to make you want to vote, and not your duty to vote in the best interests of the country. 88 million people thought this was ok instead of making time to vote for someone they didn’t like. They are still to blame, because they made the choice to not participate and make their voices heard.

Buckle up buttercup, you got at least 4 years of us telling you that you should have fucking voted, and we told you so.

I voted for Harris. In two years, Democrats will be running in congressional elections with the same electorate. You can blame them then too. It’s clear that you would much rather have fascism win every election than move one Planck length to the left.
