Should have done it well before it died on me, but oh well. Ordered the replacement battery online and got a ludicrously large box for a battery that’s smaller then a bottlecap.

Sad part is that just before I got the new battery, the car alarm went off, and I had to walk to Walmart to go get the new battery.

We were parked at AT&T to pay our Internet bill when it went off. I already had the cleaned out key fob ready, our very next plan was to go to Walmart for the battery, but the damn car alarm went off first, so I had to walk…

      Was a fun day! /s

Afaik even most fancy new ‘keyless’ cars still have a backup key if you’re ever in that situation again.

Yeah, this is a 2005 Hyundai Tucson, about as dumb as they get as far as key fobs. You can use that physical key all day long, it still ain’t gonna shut the alarm off or allow the vehicle to crank.
