The comparison to a niche online community makes a lot of sense.

3·2 days agoYou are getting in the way of a scam that all parties are aware of and perfectly ok with.
As a moron, I wish companies would just fucking tell me about their scams. I never catch on until a few months after I leave the company.
So… people are born using AI, then?
If lack of flattery due to using AI is making people think everyone is mean to them and causing them to turn to AI rather than people… then…what??? I’m sorry but you’re breaking my brain here. Can you make it make sense so I can understand?
People want to feel good and don’t want to feel bad, and this isn’t a moral failing of any kind. I don’t think AI use is because of AI. I think people turn to AI because talking to other people is just so unpleasant. This is the result of human nature, not because of the devil or because of evil, not due to anything else you can condemn someone to Hell for.
Yeah, it certainly can be. It is possible to tactfully and gracefully disagree with someone without making them look or feel stupid, and without causing them to lose face. This is something our grandparents used to do for each other.
Come on man, you’ve been outside, presumably. You know that the douchebaggery out there isn’t limited to people just not being very flattering towards each other.
We could all solve this problem by being less shitty and becoming easier to talk to. Who’s gonna be first?

2·5 days agoNo, most cheap ones are the metal kind with exposed components, not the glass kind with the metal bottom.

2·5 days agoThe stovetop ones are more common. They’re usually made of ceramic or metal, sometimes glass or cast iron. I had a glass one I really loved, but it shattered. I replaced it three times before I gave up. Metal it is.

2·5 days agoIt’s unique in that it’s harder to clean. Yes the smooth ones do also build up minerals.

Yeah there has to be a balance between “what a clever idea!” and “lol that’s dumb why are you talking to me”
