they had a tendency to overheat in hot conditions, and when stuck in traffic. this is because they need a certain amount of air flowing in order to cool properly.
they also weren’t very good for heat in the winter.
air cooling is a simpler system, and as such has less to go wrong with it. that doesn’t make it better or worse. there are pros and cons to both systems.

personally, i still do it out of stubbornness. the old cell phone games weren’t real games. they were less than old Atari games. as cell phones evolved, so did the games. eventually we get into the more modern era, and some cell phone games are more ‘real’ than older console games were.
i acknowledge that modern cell phone games, are often more of a real game than games we had back in the console days.
that said, i’ll still consider them not real games for many years to come. don’t worry what other people think. if you enjoy them, play them.
one of my favorite jokes about this is on TNG. i think it’s the episode where the bridge gets cut off from the rest of the ship, and Troi is in charge of running the ship. O’Brian makes a comment to Ro about how you can’t ‘just reroute power from things’.

I was just like, ‘Well, they ingest it and they get a full dose,’ but a full dose is a whole mug of alcohol for a cat-sized creature, and it does all the blood alcohol size-based calculations, so the cats would get sick and vomit all over the tavern."
after the update there were so many dead cats everywhere. alcohol is a solution, and all that.
really missed an opportunity for Bessaphine.
i mean, i get his point. but most of these smart devices need an internet connection for any of their smart stuff to work. so long as you don’t give it your wifi pass, or wire it in, it’s just going to be a dumb device.
i have a newer LG TV i use with my PC. it’s just wired to my PC. at some point i connected it to internet to see how the IP Channel stuff worked on it. it would let me watch stuff for about 10 minutes before it prompted to download an app. that shit got disconnected quick. never again.
all this ‘smart’ stuff needs to be granted access to your network to serve ads and recommend apps. don’t connect it.

if you’re making giant holes in your wall, you’re mounting wrong.
most wall mounts are going to be two or three bolt holes into a stud. they should be about as big around as a sharpie. if you remove the mount, a small dab of spackle covers them.
because the TV is that wide.
