Well just like with War on Drugs is not about winning. It’s about making as much money off of it as you can. Note they didn’t try to address the problems with immigration. They didn’t change the Green Card system. They didn’t expand the number of immigration judges. The bloated ICE budget isn’t just to wage war against immigrants, it’s also because they realized the military wouldn’t side with them if they tried to seize/retain power. Why not? Trump just deployed them to LA and got away with it. He could do it again. The courts have proven about a dozen times since the election that they will not hold him accountable for blatant constitutional violations. The war was not lost there, it was pretty quickly won. The reconstruction was lost.
