Yeah a foldable solar panel with a battery bank would be much more lightweight and easier to maintain too.

Depends on what you do on the laptop. If you only use it while you are awake and have a big enough battery capacity, it should be possible. This is a 90W panel, combine it with a 200Wh (thats like 4 full charges of the laptops battery) portable battery bank and you should never run out of power if all you are doing is light on compute and the laptop isnt running 24/7

Have you tried it/know someone who has? I’m always weary of wattage on solar panels as there is so much marketing inflation and bs.

This one is from my local electronics nerd shop which i trust. I can only speak about germany, but generally i have never had inaccurate ratings on solar panels, as that would be fairly illegal i think. I installed a few 2x400W sets for people and they all ended up putting out more than 800W peak power. Idk why these small scale ones should be any different. Ofcourse the rated 90 Watts will only be reached under good conditions like clear sky, a good sun angle and not too much ambient heat.

Here in the states if something is rated for say 800 watts it’s essentially impossible to get more than 700 out of it maybe. They give you the absolute theiretical max number

                Thank you!

Often it seems the “ideal conditions” are like being in space or something so the real values might be quite decieving :-)
