Yeah that’s fucked. If you are going to let people say “No Christians” or “No Muslims” then “No Zionists” ought to be allowed.

Zionism isn’t even an actual religious belief. It is a political one. A desire for a specific outcome and policies to support it

My autistic ass is going to be nitpicky as well. Zionism deals directly with people who identify with a religion and where they ought to live. I mean it also vaguely alludes to aspects of jewish ethnicity’s since zionism likely also is concerned with athiest but ethnically jewish people unless I am mistaken. There is a lot wrapped up in it.

Also religions have specific outcomes they desire as well.

Regardless, my point people should be allowed to be anti-zionist on Grindr if they can be anti-other-vaguely-equivalent-things.

Just to confirm for you (from an atheist jew) yes zionism is also concerned with atheist jews. Also, yeah people should absolutely be allowed to say no zionists, I certainly wouldn’t want to date someone who doesn’t care about Palestinians.

TBH, I don’t know why a zionist would want to date someone who’d even put “no zionists” in their profile in the first place if anything this is just encouraging everyone to waste their time.

A lot of young right wingers are complaining that people knowing their political stances makes it hard to date. They’re hoping to trick people into dating them, effectively.

I don’t see how this would matter though. In a dating app, someone who refuses to date zionists will notice if pro-zionism is on their profile and not match with them or even block them. If there is no mentioned zionism on the rightwinger’s profile and the rightwinger is trying to trick people into dating them whether the anti-zionist is able to post “No Zionists” on their profile is immaterial, the rightwinger will try to match with them regardless.

If a large portion of people are putting it in their profiles, NOT putting it can make you stand out?

If no one can, they won’t stand out. Sure they could lie, but now they don’t have to

That’s not the reason for it. They want to ensure it isn’t normalized. If you start seeing a lot of people openly saying they’re anti-zionist, people who seem reasonable and generally agree with you, then you may consider that the propoganda you’ve been fed saying it’s wrong inst accurate.

Every single religion has extremists. Make a religion, you just made reliigious extremists. Support a religion, you support the same religion as religious extremists are supporting.

Religions support politics, and politicians, . They have to do that to achieve theocracy.

Every single religion tries to pull this bullshit. christians? Yep. muslims? Yep. jewish? Yep. hindu? Yep. It never ends. Keep religion very far away from everything, always. It ruins everything it touches.

Just fyi, the slash in /s or /sarcasm isn’t some weird bracket, it’s meant as an XML style closing tag, meaning “end of sarcasm”. In full it would look as follows:

            <sarcasm>Things are going great!</sarcasm>

But people drop the opening tag and the <> for convenience.

No, the / has nothing to do with xml. It’s a fake IRC command.

They were all in the style of /commandname.

You know, people tend to use sarcasm more in chats than in XML documents.

I’m aware of slash commands. If it’s a /sarcasm command, why would it be at the end of the statement?
What’s your source for this? I’m pretty sure “/s” means “end of sarcasm”, borrowed from XML/HTML.

Well, not every zionist likes Netanyaho. In fact I think even among them the majority dislike him because basically most of almost every group dislikes Netanyaho ATM. Hes only still in power because of political leverage, fear, etc. Sort of a “Hes a evil psychopath but what if we get instability in this turbulent war time by removing him?”

Also I’ve 100% encountered zionist LGBT people on dating apps. They’ve been either Jewish or Centrist Libs.

Or because of “poor relations” between Islam and LGBT… Which is mostly just any religion and LGBT. Seeing zionism as a lesser evil to Islamic fundamentalism that they associate with Palestinian Nationalism.
