pay attention to how intentional things are. nothing in this picture is motivated. the man has his arm raised, but not in a welcoming manner, more like he’s saying hi. he also isnt looking at the viewer. there is also no discernable landmark or important features. the only other thing is a bus, which doesnt have a door on the right, which i dont know about you, but every bus ive seen in north America has the door on the right.
a real advertisement for Canada would likely ask you to visit or experience something about Canada, like a national park or iconic building in a city, or have a recognizable public figure. it absolutely would not bring up something objectively negative like being deported in the same space as an invitation to visit.
all im saying is that, there is a basic language to art and this reads like an alien that is aware that there are rules but does not understand why there are rules nor how they operate
While I know this is slop and think your explanations for why you can tell are sound. You’re mixing in arguments for why this couldn’t be a real ad, and that’s a separate argument. I think the assumption is much more likely to be that it’s a human made meme and not a real ad.
I did not think about the landmark thing!!! That’s such a good point!!! I honestly read the hand position as a polite “hey there” but that might be my autism, but it does make sense what you said!! Thank you I’ll try to see the bigger “picture” of what the intent of a piece would be and if the drawing is actually attempting to do it, that’s a really good point and something AI will not be able to fulfill any time soon!

I’m trying to make the case that it is too clean looking to be made by an amateur and also too alien to be made by a human
