So maybe don’t go in with a battle jacket with every flag patch on it, just like dress how you would for work and just sign up for the course. A real 2a advocate might think you’re going to hell, but they absolutely believe in your right to defend yourself on this earth with a gun. And you should learn, even if you decide not to daily carry, knowledge is still power. A gun is a force multiplier that can absolutely change the outcome of a situation in which your survival is at stake. That, and shooting is fun, pistols, rifles and shotguns all.
So aside from the absolute bullshit that is ‘hide who you are for stupid fuckers’ being a terrible way to live your life, my mind immediately jumps to a person’s voice, which can’t be masked on the fly, so that plan is going to fall apart a few seconds after they walk in the door, unless they have gone through extensive voice retraining…
But circling back around, absolutely fuck hiding elements of yourself just because others are dumbasses. If we all did that, think of the dumbest motherfucker you have seen in Walmart, then give them all the power and respect by not engaging and rolling over like a bitch.

There is “not hiding who you are” and “not putting yourself in danger for no good reason”. If you think you are really unsafe around some people, don’t provoke them just for the sake of being a martyr. I think self preservation comes first here.
There are a lot of SRA (Socialist Rifle Association) chapters that have classes available. Worth it to look up to see if they have instructors or instructors they recommend if nothing else.
If not classes, some homie who’s an ex combat vet who’s not certified because they don’t want to give the feds or the NRA any money.
I’ve paid the fascists for their classes and its nothing special. I can save you a Sunday and several Friday afternoons and at least $300 in training with these blog posts I wrote.
