We don’t talk about operating systems that would be silly. We talk about distros.
Distros basically are OSes. You get some choices of kernel with some choices of userland and some choices of desktop environment. Additionally, you get some update mechanism and optionally some customized looks, tools, and/or sets of settings. That’s all what an OS really is.

You are definitely correct about the best distro.
There are layers to this, Arch people feel superior to Mint or Ubuntu users. But! FreeBSD feels superior to all Linux. OpenBSD superior to all other BSDs, Plan9 superior to all other OSs. Meanwhile, Linus Torvalds uses Fedora and Ken Thompson uses Debian. Iirc Rob Pike uses MacOS.

What distro?
I’ve use many in my quest. My main problem is for my gaming station. Got fed up with Nobara breaking wifi and bluetooth and gave Bazzite a try, same shit. I have multiple adapters btw. I just want a stable station for gaming and streaming.
