The GOP funding cuts, passed along party lines, would significantly impact state and local efforts to improve drinking water and reduce water pollution. Additional cuts would severely hamper environmental justice projects.
Koch family spent millions (billion?) buying out most republican politicians specifically because that was cheaper than not polluting.
The core argument is “epa is anti business” and they’ve convinced the moronic voters that pollution/climate change doesn’t really affect them. And the regulations are just about paperwork
(Pollution does, of course, but the charges are for not maintaining records or self reporting- because it’s impossible to prove that they’re polluting when nobody is actually measuring that- they ripped out the meters-)
