A federal judge has blocked Donald Trump’s latest attempt to limit birthright citizenship, granting a preliminary injunction against an executive order that the administration said would target “birth tourism.”

U.S. District Judge Deborah L. Boardman in Maryland on Wednesday issued the injunction until a class-action lawsuit brought by immigrant families and advocacy groups is resolved.

“The Supreme Court has spoken: Children in the certified class are ‘citizens at birth,’” Boardman, appointed by President Joe Biden, wrote in Wednesday’s ruling.

“Citing Supreme Court precedent” is purposeful. When it goes before SCOTUS, they’re on notice that siding with Trump would overturn precedent, which is a whole lot harder to justify, especially when the point being contested is answered in the Constitution.

They did allow that USPS nonsense to go forward even though States are charged with operating elections, and there’s decades of precedent for USPS carrying ballots for States without interference, so maybe they just DGAF.

Other than hating brown people, what supposed reasoning do the cons even use for not supporting birthright citizenship?

Because court precedent means anything to Royal Execute Order.
