In German it’s cutely named Siebenschläfer (seven sleeper). Cause it’s hibernating for approx 7 months, or just a lot.
I’d try a few, maybe I’m not getting enough dormice in my diet.

They can almost double their weight before hibernation. Of course something with that much fat is tasty hahaA delicacy in Ancient Rome! If you wanted to show off your wealth, you’d weigh the fattest dormouse you could get in front of your guests before serving it in a fancy dinner. The fatter, the more impressive!
