They’re probably not doing it just because, my guess is that it’s to appeal to the fasci- I mean- conservative government heading the US right now. And yes, I am aware that they are probably going to restrict more stuff as time goes on if they’re unimpeded. I’m just looking for a solid motive
I feel like one huge thing that’s been missed in here in all this outrage is that it wasn’t just “porn games” that were removed from sale - they were, from what I saw, extreme and sick ones like “rape simulators”, “incest simulators”, and pedophile sex games, where you seduce and rape young children………
As someone against censorship in all forms I disagree with what they’ve done, but as a rational person…… if there was ever something that should be censored (or made illegal more like it), it’s probably this.
Kind of an odd stance for someone who calls themselves “freedom advocate”
It’s not hurting you. It’s not your money. Who the fuck are you to say shit about what people buy. Should all movies be censored that you don’t like? There are rape movies. There are incest movies.
If you’ve actually been paying attention you’d see that basically the only government in the world that is NOT taking part in all this censorship and mass surveillance is the very government you’re blaming for this.
If anything, the only hope to stop these payment processors from going even more authoritarian is the current US government. Currently all of the “progressive” and “liberal” governments worldwide are all aboard the censorship and control train. The US is the outlier.
I’m against censorship in all forms, but geez the games that have been removed…… their creators and the people that buy and enjoy those games are 99.9% sure to be rock spiders. If a game breaks the law then ban it and prosecute, but if not then leave them alone no matter how deprave and sick they are.
The US (more specifically Project 2025) is a huge driving force in this, they’re just domestically focused on the “make America white again” stage of their plans to return to a nuclear family, but that won’t stop them using their lobbying powers, or control over tech monopolies to strongarm other countries into submission.
It’s all in in black and white in Project 2025.
Ban porn > Categorize LGBT as Porn > LGBT is crime > LGBT in prison
Religious zealots and bigots were given the reigns. This is what we get.
Regarding payment processing specifically, they are under direct pressure from religious lobbyists and are folding like a cheap suit.
Amazing since most of em molest little kids.
Which side of the political spectrum are currently forcing age verification all over the internet, especially on porn sites - conservatives or “progressives”? Hint: it’s not who you’re saying it is.
You guys need to move on from the project 2025 rubbish - no one bought it before the election, and still banging on about it only harms the democrats already in-the-toilet credibility.
In the USA Porn isn’t banned, being gay isn’t “classified as porn” (whatever that means, it makes no sense). Still haven’t seen those concentration and death camps you’ve been yapping about for years either 🤣
The “progressive left” are the ones on their way to criminalising porn. Have a look at what’s going on in the UK under their increasingly far left government for a glimpse at what the party you support wants.
The conservatives introduced the online safety act. Labour enforced it, but labour haven’t been a progressive party in the UK for decades.
“Increasingly far left government”, tell me you know absolutely nothing about the subject, without saying you know absolutely nothing about the subject.
Do they specifically mention how banning porn is a step towards attacking queer people?
If you read Project 2025 you would find that literally on Page 1 they equate pornography with “the spread of transgenderism and drag queens” and claim that all of the above are “invading their school libraries” so all further references to combating “pornography” in the text also means transgender people.
You can read it for yourself here and I strongly advise you to do so to stay informed. The enemy has laid bare every single one of their tactics and remaining ignorant to it is irresponsible.
You’re intentionally misrepresenting what it says, what a surprise.
That sentence is in reference to the “pornographic” transgender-advocate book in schools that have extremely graphic pictures and descriptions about things like “sucking girl dick” and so on. It’s not equating pornography with transgenderism at all.
Red states have already passed legislation classify any book that has any form ofnLGBT representation as obscene and not fit for school libraries. It’s the same process on a bigger scale.

Your mom
just do a web search with “project 2025 porn” and marval at it… it is amazing
here is a good write up example https://www.gratefulweb.com/articles/project-2025-war-porn-privacy-and-progress
You’re right except the zealots and bigots are the ones being propagandized to support the legislation. The reason for it has always been for expanded prison labor. That’s where America’s slavery thrives. Don’t play into the culture war while corporations and the owning class take everything from us.
Nah, they want this legislation.
A certain section of society watched The Handmaid’s Tale (they wouldn’t read it because books are bad) and thought: “yes please, let’s have some of that thank you very much” this is the thin end of the wedge.
Which section is that, the one that wants to take away women’s rights by letting males into their spaces, and who constantly award women of the year awards and women’s representative spots to males?
So you’d actually be OK with a christofascist dictatorship as long as people you don’t like get oppressed as well? Cool.
This has been happening quietly for a long time. It exploded now because it crept into new segments like Steam. That is mostly driven by a few conservative groups applying pressure to credit card processors.
You won’t find porn sites with certain content; in particular, blood or scat play. Now, neither one is to my personal liking, but I don’t think it should be blocked as long as everyone involved consents. You might find amateur videos of it, but never anything from a professional studio. That is quite simply because credit card processors forbid it.
(My source is one of the interviews that Kink.com does before a scene, which they always leave in the edit they post to their pay site. I’d have to search a lot to find the specific one. Suffice it to say that one of the models mentioned “no scat” as a hard limit, and the director said that their payment processor wouldn’t allow it, anyway.)
It’s also impossible to remake the old Taboo series as is. Faux-incest scenes go out of their way to mention they’re all a step family (seriously, how many step children does Cory Chase have? This doesn’t seem physically possible.) This is all credit card industry pressure, as well, and while I wish the genre wasn’t as prevalent as it is, the setup dialog gets really silly and contorted because of this restriction.
Project 2025. They literally bragged about the shit they wanted to do while claiming they had nothing to do with it.
It baffles me that people are surprised this is happening, but a large majority of the voting population either doesn’t care or are ok with this.
Let’s all start sending pictures of our sweaty ass cracks and balls to the senators behind this.

The only reason these companies would turn down money is if the cost of not doing that was greater. The only reason for that would be a tyrannical government threatening them. The only reason for that would be religious zealots at the helm of the tyrannical government.
because conservatives are lobbying them to, and they don’t give a shit either way. they know they can’t be replaced without upsetting a huge part of the consumer economy, so it’s easier for them to capitulate than spend any effort fighting it, because they’ll still be making billions and billions each year either way. they give absolutely zero fucks if they’re doing business with a fascist regime or not. they’re betting that the fascists are going to eventually win, so that’s where they’re sticking their eggs.
Trying to see what they can get away with. Can I control other things too? I was allowd to dictate how people spend their money here, so why not there?
They’re being lobbied to do it by religious organizations who have identified them as a weak point in freedom of speech. See, for example, mortality in media, exodus cry
Both those claim to be against sex trafficking, I wonder how many of their board members have flown to the Epstein island?
I just assume every conservative politician is a pedophile. They protect and defend them, so they’re already as low as they can go.
Did the democrats release the Epstein list and put everyone on it in jail while they were in power for 4 years after he died?
Why not?
I hope out of principle: Porn should be freely accessible where laws permit access to porn.
They can’t make money if they are not processing payments, and It’s very VERY unlike the financial sector not to take money from others anyway they can. So there must be some reason they make more money* excluding porn than including it.
* Not per se as a company, more likely as individuals running such a company.
Soon porn and masturbation will be crimes.
Punishable by life sentences to slavery.
There’s about to be a huge chunk of generations that won’t watch porn or masturbate because they have no sexual function whatsoever thanks to being chemically castrated voluntarily.
Maybe that was the play all along? Remove the audience so porn disappears.
can’t stop me.
I’ll be the guy whackin off in the chain-gang.
I see two possible explanations:
-
Class warfare. The same people banning porn are the ones banning abortion, banning homosexuality, banning gender transitions (although they never seem to ban the same therapies for cis people), banning sex education, banning contraception. All of these attacks on individual sexuality are to try to push people into unprotected heterosexual sex. At the same time, these same political groups have been attacking both parental support systems and child labor laws. They want parents too desperate to rebel. They want children working. They want a larger supply of labor: more supply means more competition amongst workers for wages, which means the labor is cheaper.
-
Power. Maybe these payments processors don’t actually care about pornographic games. But attacking pornography in the name of “defending women and children” is easy to sell to the public and sets a precedent for these payment processors violating neutrality. So eventually they will move to banning games that are too violent (well, they’ve already been trying for decades). Then it’ll be games that are too “extreme” or promote “terrorism”. If these payment processors don’t see any consequences soon, I expect in the next 5 years they will try to take down any games that are anti-Zionist. Maybe games that are pro-Ukraine. In 10 years it could be any sort of left-leaning game. Disco Elysium for promoting communism. Horizon for depicting climate change. Stardew Valley for allowing same-sex relationships and being anti-corporate.
Notice that these discussions never seem to apply to copaganda. It’s perfectly fine to be violent and bloody as long as that violence is authorized by the state. The US Military offices have a well-documented relationship with Activision for Call of Duty, so you aren’t going to see any of these groups call for CoD to be banned.

The ruling class deemed that’s what they need to do, so that’s what they do.
Personally, I think our rulers are getting upset that we’re not spitting out babies as much as we used to, so their offspring will have fewer servants to boss around.
It’s always acceptable to kill a rich person. Their culture and lifestyle results in magnitudes more death and suffering than if every rich person was hung.
Visa and Mastercard have been pushing against legal but morally questionable stuff for the last 15 or so years to my knowledge.
It will continue regardless of which administration is in power.
