The French revolution was against the Aristocracy, not the Bourgeoisie. The masses know their king and lords but which Capitalist do they know besides Bill Gates and Elon Musk?

        This is the issue.

About 2000 people need to be “arrested” and the 1% is gone.

If you do so without changing the law, don’t you think the 1% will have the revolutionaries arrested first?

I hate how a lot of men make the rest of us look bad. Can we just chill out for a bit? Like, can guys stop beating on their wives, molesting children, raping, and murdering? Please? Idk what to do besides just be chill myself and try to encourage others to be the same. Let’s just read some books with some piano in the background.

I hate being expected to observe holidays that were created on a foundation of racial and cultural obliteration.

I would like to add a holiday that once celebrated peace, but now celebrates militarism and war: Veterans Day (US). Not long ago, it was St. Martin’s day, a feast that commemorates a Roman soldier who abandoned his military office to become a monk. It was customary to sign peace treaties on his feast day for this reason. Included in this was Armistice Day, the end of World War 1. Eventually in the US this was changed to Veterans Day in 1954.

Conservatism, probably. It’s cruel and often self destructive.

That humans (all of us) are such emotional creatures and that we do often can’t rise above it. You tell someone a fact they don’t like and the brain just shuts that down.

    These feel related somehow

Daylight Saving time, Donald Trump & his supporters, the US healthcare “system”, mosquitos, Christmas music, babies on airplanes, hangnails, bigotry and intolerance of other people’s cultures, and the Dutch.

      Christmas music

There are a couple of songs I like, but honestly a lot of it is junk, which wouldn’t be too bad if they hadn’t already been playing in stalls for half a month.

The Grinch wears a top hat.

True. “Carol of the Bells” goes hard. It sounds like you’re being chased down a dark alley by a serial killer.

I hate that most people’s ideas of success is to earn lots of money and buy expensive things, rather than help the community.

i mean, have you tried either?

helping your community is a task of endless need and criticism that opens you up to personal liability and attack. like i have been verbally assaulted and threatened by people for helping my community. i’ve never encounter that at my place of employment.

earning lots of money and buying shit is way more fun and easy. when i stay at a hotel the hotel staff don’t threaten to beat the shit out of me.

Yup, that’s real. I was once berated for offering free HIV testing at a Pride event. I guess the guy took it as a personal affront because he likely was HIV positive and thought what we were doing was ridiculous. But he did take the opportunity to try to make me look and feel bad in front of other people by mocking me and being absolutely rude. Like, you could’ve just said no. You don’t need to insult an underage kid to feel good about yourself.
